That’s because the type of equipment and terrain can greatly affect your range. Our engineer made a test to verify how far can RT95 talk, We choose two test places around our office, where distance is about 5km on map as below screenshot from Google.map.

The easiest way to extend your RT95 range is by focusing on your antenna

Antennas on cars are usually mounted on the roof or trunk and can extend several feet above the car. As we all known Car Mobile radios usually broadcast from 25 to 100 watts maximum. Installed in vehicles and their signal is much stronger than a handheld radio. However, their signal can still only travel to the horizon. So just having more watts without a better antenna is like having a large funnel with a small hole. So mount your antenna as high-up on your vehicle as possible.

What kind of antenna can compaticable with RT95

We take MR100 SL16/PL259 ANTENNA which Maximum Power is 70W when TEST HOW FAR CAN RT95 reach.  It can receive a very well signal between our test places in final report.

In short, one of the easiest ways to extend your range is by focusing on your antenna. we should say the higher your antenna the longer your communication range.
