Retevis RT23 Analog Cross-Band Repeater Radio

There has an analog radio with Unique function, chic designed, cross-band repeater function, Dual PTT, Dual receiving. It is Retevis RT23, Dual Receiving simultaneous Walkie Talkie.

Yes, Dual Receiving is coming, today I will take you to learn more about RT23, there are many other functions as shown below.

Cross-Band Repeater function

Turn on radio RT23, choose the RELAY (menu 6: cross-band repeater function).

Set the CTCSS(menu 26):141.3

Then choose the Repeater mode (menu 34), there will display Singel and Double.

If you want to change the frequency range, you need to do as shown below.

a. When Repeater set Single

Single means the receive and transmit frequencies of the repeater are specific.

For example:

Choose two RT87 A and B. RT 87 radio A: RX frequency 165.37500, CTCSS:141.3. RT87 radio B: RX frequency 452.37500, CTCSS:141.3.

Push PTT, the two cannot communicate.

Open the RT23, set steps as above, choose Single, set the RX frequency to 165.37500, TX frequency to 452.37500, offset is 264.000.

The screen will display 165R375, 452T375.

Then push PTT, radio A can communicate with radio B, but B cannot talk to A.

it indicates that the repeater can only receive 165.37500 and transmit 452.37500, just can work at the frequency you set.

and it also can increase the distance of communication.

b. When Repeater set Double

Double means the receive and transmit frequencies of the repeater are random.

For example:

Choose two RT87 A and B. RT 87 radio A: RX frequency 165.37500, CTCSS:141.3. RT87 radio B: RX frequency 452.37500, CTCSS:141.3.

Push PTT, the two cannot communicate.

Open the RT23, set steps as above, choose Double, set the Band A frequency to 165.37500, Band B frequency to 452.37500, offset is 141.3.

The screen will display 165*375, 452*375.

Then push PTT, radio A can communicate with radio B, A can talk to A.

It indicates the repeater not only can receive 165.375, transmit 452.375, but also can receive 452.375, transmit 165.375.

And you can modify the transmit and receive frequency values

Dual Receiving

One of the most prominent features of RT23 over other radios is Dual Receiving.

Many dual-band radios can listen to two channels and monitor two different frequencies.

But at the same moment, it can only accept one signal of one of the two bands. If A band has a signal, it will receive A and it cannot accept the signal of the other band B unless the current A’s signal ends.

RT23 not only can monitor both frequencies but also can receive two incoming signals at the same time.

What’s more, you can set the volume mode ( menu 35).

MAIN indicates the main frequency sound is louder when receiving, SUB is indicated the sub frequency sound is louder when receiving. OFF indicates both main and sub frequency have the same sound.

Dual PTT

You can set a Sub-PTT by side key. If so you don’t need to choose the transmit channel. Push PTT transmit the main-channel, push another side key will transmit the sub-channel. Very convenient.

Receive signal when using FM radio function

There are lots of radios have FM function.

In order to receive any calls, most of the radios’ default settings are automatically receiving the signals when we listen to FM radio.

Some people think it is very good, but some other people think it is a little problem. Because during this time they don’t want to be disturb.

Retevis RT23 will give you more choices. The calls were received when you listen to FM is up to you.

Turn on the DW function, Receive two-way radio Signal when listening to FM radio, Never miss the important information.

Or turn off it, enjoy your time without any disturb.

    1. Hi, would you please check if your radio can be programmed with read and write normally? and if yes, you can program the factory file to have a try. Another way, you can turn off your radio, then put off the battery, then install the battery again to turn on to have a try.
iF these two ways can’t solve your question, would you please offer your order id and platform you ordered?
