Shortcut keys of Retevis RT22
Chinese and English switching: On 16 channels, press “+” to power on, switch Chinese or English.
Voice-activated VOX: On 7 channels, press “+” to power on, turn voice control on or off.
Key lock: In any channel, press and hold the “+” and “-” keys at the same time to lock the button (only the PTT button can be used, the channel “+” and “-” cannot be used), and the “drop” sounds and then grows. Press the “+” and “-” keys to close the key lock and prompt “drip” twice.

Hello. I dropped the walkie and now when I press the + or – or PTT button the indicator light does not come on. I am unable to call out over the walkie when I press the PTT button. I am able to hear when others talk and the indicator light comes on when they do. I cant respond to them. Im concerned that I may have broken the unit for good.

I just received my rt22 radios. I am able to turn to channel 7, hold + volume key and turn on radio. The radio responds “VOX on”.
But I can’t get it to pick up a signal when speaking into it.
Is there anything else to do? Is there a way to set vox level?

Everything that I read before buying 4 RT22 suggested that I can get Vox working by just using the controls on the unit. I have done that, but without success. So do I really need to purchase a programming cable? And are there any instructions about how one goes about changing the programming?
I am very disappointed. If, in fact, they need to be reprogrammed, that should have been made clear in the instruction book and in the information provided at Amazon, where I made the purchase. I am a senior, and I have no knowledge of how to reprogramme a walkie-talkie. The advertising that I read online seems to have been quite deceptive.
