You may ask, if adult radio can talk with children’s radio? So we can take care of them or play games together with them? The answer is “SURE”!

But you may say, children’s radio has neither programming cable, nor programming software, how to know their frequency and CTCSS in each channel? How to make them talk with adult radio? Please don’t worry, let’s take the latest Retevis children’s radio, Retevis RT35 as an example to explain.

Let’s first study children’s radio default frequency and CTCSS/DCS as below:

1.Most Retevis children’s radio have EU/US two frequency range band available for selection. When you are from european, please choose the radio version :EU446MHz 8CH, when your charger standard is USA standard,(such as America, Canada, China), please choose the radio version: US462MHz 22CH.

2. You will see below digit on the LCD display, as you know, the left digit(03)stand for channel no., the right one(05) stands for CTCSS/DCS code, right?retevis childrens radio

3.So what’s the frequency in each channel for an EU frequency band children’s radio?

Its fixed data is in sheet below, all these is legal free licence frequency:

4.For adult radio talk with children’s radio, besides the frequency, we must know the CTCSS/DCS. Then What’s the default CTCSS and DCS for an EU frequency band children’s radio?

CTCSS channel code stand for the CTCSS digits, as in sheet below:

Such as CTCSS Channel 05, CTCSS stand for 79.7Hz

DCS channel code stand for the DCS digits:

On the Children’s radio, CTCSS/DCS channel no. after channel 38, belong to DCS code.  Such as CTCSS/DCS channel no. 40, it means this children’s radio is setting with DCS digit 26. (In DCS sheet above,  NO.1 means DCS channel no. 39 show on LCD display, it’s the first DCS data after 38, and the like)

5.What’s the frequency in each channel for a US frequency band children’s radio?

Please note though frequency different, US default CTCSS and DCS, is same as EU default CTCSS and DCS, which is stated in the 4 points.

Getting the frequency and CTCSS/DCS real digit in each channel, you can set the adult radio with same  Receiving frequency, Transmit frequency, and same CTCSS/DCS. Then you adult radio can talk with children’s radio.

Ok, now enjoying your radio communication with you lovely children! You will get much fun and love with it!
